Regulation

Three (3) student bursaries will be supported by the Portuguese Association of Speech and Language Therapists (APTF). Each will be awarded to the first/presenting author of an abstract accepted for oral communication or poster presentation at the 10th European Congress of Speech and Language Therapy – CPLOL, and will consist of the Congress registration fee and travel expenses.

Scope

The bursaries aim is to promote and encourage research in speech and language therapy and to support new and significant work conducted by European speech and language therapy students.

Applications

1. The Bursary Committee is composed of one member of APTF and one mem-ber from CPLOL, which will evaluate each applicant’s eligibility.
2. Only students submitting an abstract as a first author and completing con-gress registration will be eligible to apply for the travel and registration bur-sary.
3. Abstracts should be submitted via the electronic application system at www.cplolcongress2018.eu until 15 October 2017.
4. Congress registration should be made via the electronic registration system at www.cplolcongress2018.eu until 15 February 2018.
5. The travel and registration bursary includes free full Early Bird registration rate of EUR 150 and travel expenses to a maximum of EUR 350.
6. The reimbursement of registration and travel expenses will take place only after the congress upon presentation of the original documents (flight, bus or train tickets and receipts).
7. Students who receive full or partial sponsorship from other organizations will not be eligible for the bursary.

Procedure

1. Eligible applicants are only those whose abstracts have been accepted by the Congress Scientific Committee.
2. Each applicant has to submit:
   1. An application form, (download below)
   2. A document from university as proof of their inscription,
   3. A letter from a tutor or supervisor supporting the application for the bur-sary including full name and contact details of the supporter. The support person should be available for contact in order to obtain additional infor-mation about the applicant, if necessary,
   4. Proof of bank transfer that the congress registration fee has been paid.
3. All documents should be sent via email (as document in PDF format) to geral@aptf.org until 28 February 2018. The applications and support letters will be evaluated by the Bursary Committee.
4. The three travel and registration student bursaries will be awarded to students whose abstracts have received the highest ratings by the Congress Scientific Committee.
5. The winners of travel and registration student bursaries will be informed by 31 March 2018.
